About Us
Allan Reid (1950-2020)
Hydro-Air was created in 1976 by Al Reid . After years of working for a controls company his interests grew into the building science involved in various HVAC systems. After starting Hydro-Air, his reputation and the company grew almost immediately as the “go-to” balancer for Calgary and other parts of Western Canada. Throughout the years Allan was insistent on doing the job the “right way”. He was a leader and mentor in the industry, and was heavily relied upon by mechanical engineers and contractors for advice and guidance when developing new projects.

Unfortunately, we lost Allan early December 2020. Although he was an impeccable entrepreneur and business man, he was also an incredible family man to his siblings, children and grandkids. His son Cory rejoined Hydro-Air in 2015. He has taken over the business and hopes to fill Al's big shoes and continue the Hydro-Air legacy.

Cory Reid (1979-2025)
Cory began working with Hydro-Air in the late 1990s before earning his Civil Engineering Technology diploma from SAIT in 2001. He went on to build a successful career in residential construction, spending 15 years as a Purchasing and Estimating Manager for two of Calgary’s largest home builders.
In 2015, Cory returned to Hydro-Air, taking a lead role on major projects—most notably the Calgary International Airport Expansion. He later stepped into the day-to-day management of the company, bringing a strong sense of integrity, innovation, and pride in continuing the work his father started.
Cory passed away in 2025 after a courageous battle with ALS. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled in the team at Hydro-Air. While the technicians continue to lead the day-to-day operations, Cory’s wife, Chelsey, now supports the business on the administrative side, helping to ensure continuity and care in the company’s operations.

Rob Arsenault
Rob is the most "seasoned" air balancer in the city, being with the company since 1982. In his time with Hydro-Air, Rob has completed numerous projects both big and small. He has the unique ability to diagnose and troubleshoot all HVAC problems and issues. His experience in the industry is crucial as there is nothing he hasn't seen before when it comes to air distribution systems.
Mitch Hunt
Mitch has been an air balancer with Hydro-Air since 2010. Mitch specializes in VAV systems, make-up air, and roof-top units and all other air distribution systems. He knows all the in's and outs of the industry, works closely with control contractors, and mechanical superintendents, and is heavily relied upon to complete many of our downtown office building projects.
Connor Leach
Connor Leach has been with Hydro Air since 2013. Connor began as an assistant, and quickly made his way up to being a lead technician. In addition to air balancing, Connor is also the company's lead Hydronic technician, after spending years alongside Allan learning water distribution and pump characteristics.
